Return

Crystalline passages line all my walls
So many choices, so many falls
How long shall I have to wander these halls
Beating myself up for answering calls

Calls that echo along the spaces
Voices that fill my head with faces
So many lives, so many places
Looking for those who have seen the traces

Traces of tears that run down my cheeks
Crying aloud but nobody speaks
How long has it been? I think maybe weeks
Echo returns the sounds of the shrieks

Shrieks of despair, of pain, of loss,
Hanging myself on my handmade cross
The pain that's inside, it needs no gloss
Take my lives out, just give them a toss

Toss them around; my heart, it won't mind
I've gotten used to being left behind
Sometimes I think that I must be blind
Always I'm searching, but never I find.

-Why is this poem called "Rain Falls"?  Originally, I wrote it as a song, the chorus follows:

Rain falls down, I can't learn to fear it
Rain falls down, it takes out my spirit
Rain falls down, it leaves me for dead
Rain falls down, it's all that I dread
